Description
The pattern is knitted flat on one set of size 3.5 (US size 3), 4 (US size 6) or 5 mm (US size 8) single point knitting needles with worsted weight yarn. Sizing for the small, medium and large sizes are changed with the size of the needles and how many stitches per inch there are (gauge).
This pattern uses very basic stitches and has an easy seam to sew at the end making it a great pattern for newbies and super quick for those with more experience. The pattern itself only involves the knit and purl stitch, k2tog, P2tog and cabling. I added scannable QR codes to how-to videos to help you along to make the thumb itself, and the thumb gusset. And if you are a new knitter or just need a bit of extra help, there are also videos to show you how to do cable stitches.
These fingerless mitts are the final piece in the owl set I designed. There is a matching hat or beanie and a scarf that goes along with these. The toque and scarf patterns, are available for purchase on this site. You can see the hat here – Knit Owl Beanie Hat – Knit Flat on 2 Straight Needles and the scarf here – Knit Owl Scarf – Knit Flat on 2 Straight Needles.
